Community Walk

This is your opportunity to join a community effort to add some distance to our community target of 303 miles. The walk is being held on Saturday 4th August but even if you can’t be in the village then, you can still contribute some miles … anytime over the weekend of 4th and 5th August, if you’re out with the dog, on the golf course, or away on holiday or in some other part of the country, on the go in any way at all, please make a conscious note of the distance you’ve travelled, and let us know. (Ring Chalky 748840, Janet 748321, Syd 748464).

Upon registration at The Cricket Club by 10.30 a.m., you can select a route and will be given a route map and a quiz sheet for the walk.  A shorter route is available for those prefer it, and there will be a toddlers’ version in the playing field. Please make sure you bring your own water, sun protection (or waterproofs, depending on the weather).  We reserve the right to change the routes depending on route conditions, and what animals the farmers have in their fields.

We intend to be mostly off-road on recognised paths and we have landowners’ permission to use them. If we have to use roads you will be issued with a hi-viz vest and there will be road signs advising a Community Walk to alert traffic but all sensible highway precautions must be made by yourselves for your own safety.
