Village ‘Signatures’ Christmas Card

Janet Crampton writes, “I can’t believe I’m even thinking about this in the height of summer, but we need to be thinking about the village charity Christmas Card, for which we seek nominations for a benefiting charity.

One I would like to suggest is Combat Stress which supports service personnel dealing with post traumatic stress. After the moving but harrowing film The Railway Man shown in the Village Hall, this would seem to be a very worthwhile cause, or the Royal British Legion for the same reason (and see item above on Thankful Villages). Also, we might want to consider starting a Scruton Station Upkeep Fund. Others may have ideas or  charities they would like to nominate. Please let me have your suggestions as soon as possible – see contact details overleaf.

Also – if anyone has a Scruton winter scene that they would like to submit for the card, I’d be happy to hear.  It would need to be a high resolution jpeg, and preferably landscape (but not insurmountable if it’s not).  So, please, keen photographers, give me a call or send an email if you have something suitable”.
