1. A BT telephone line – you need a line though you don’t need to get your broadband service from BT.
  2. A PC. If you have a fairly new PC running Windows XP, you should have no problems. Windows 2000 will probably be OK, but if you have something older then seek advice to see what else you may need to do.
  3. A broadband modem or router. These are often supplied as part of the package from your broadband supplier. The modem/router can be installed internally to your PC, or externally using a USB port, or using a Wireless connection.
  4. A micro-filter for each phone socket to allow you to use the telephone as well as your computer. Most suppliers also sell micro-filters.
