Notes from recent meetings of Scruton Parish Council

November 2014 Meeting

Broken Street Lights

If you spot one, all you have to do is ring Hambleton District Council on 779977 or search Lights Out on their website.

Leaf Clearance

Richard O’Neill arranged collection and disposal of leaves on the village green but this task was made easier after the very welcome efforts of a couple of good-hearted neighbours who cleared up the majority of leaves earlier in the month. Many thanks to Kevin Procter and Eddie Baldwin!

Morton Village Stores

you will perhaps have heard that the village store and post office is closing at the end of December, and there are several people who rely on delivery of daily newspapers. Chris Barron wants to open a discussion on how we might be able to overcome this – perhaps with a rota and a car run to get papers from elsewhere.  If you have any ideas, ring Chris on 748315 or Janet Crampton on 748321.

The nearest alternative post office/newsagent is at Kirby Fleetham, and the newly opened Exelby Services at Coneygarth (Leeming Bar) supplies newspapers.
