Double Grant Success

Two groups from Scruton have been successful in securing full grants for tree planting in the village. Both the Allotments Society and the Parish Council applied to Hambleton District Council for funding for tree planting schemes under the Carbon Reduction Scheme, the district council offering up to £1,500 or 75% of the project costs for tree planting this winter.

Scruton Parish Council made an application for £1,500 for a planting scheme that draws together plans for trees in Beech Close, Ham Hall Lane, Scruton Park and on the village green. Separately, Scruton Allotments Association has made an application for £177 for trees on the site of the new allotments.

It is delightful (and surprising) that both village schemes have been successful. Watch out for planting taking place soon.
