Local Elections 2022
From April 2023 there will be a new unitary authority for North Yorkshire (North Yorkshire Council), replacing the seven district and borough councils as well as the current County Council.
On 5 May, we will be able to vote for one of 90 councillors, who will serve for 5 years (one year more than normal) covering the final year of the current County Council, plus the first 4 years of the new North Yorkshire Council.
Parish elections will also take place on 5 May, thus saving money for parishes like Scruton, who would otherwise incur the expense of a separate election.
