Parish Council News – September 2022

SPC would like to thank our County Councillor Annabel Wilkinson for unveiling the plaque for our Jubilee Tree. We also thank Liz Davies for planting the tree on the Jubilee weekend, and George Ewart for buying the Plaque and the Prosecco. The ceremony was a pleasant end to the working week.

SPC attended the Planning Meeting where the application to build a solar photovoltaic array was put forward and discussed. In accordance with the mandate from the independently verified Scruton Village Referendum, in which 68% voted against the solar installation, SPC spoke against the proposal on the grounds that putting a solar power station on grade 2 best most versatile agricultural land would contravene Local  Policy. The HDC Planning Committee voted to follow their Local Planning Policy and rejected the application.
