Yorkshire Water Debacle

As SPC received no response from Yorkshire Water about the hole in Station Road, NYCC Councillor Annabel Wilkinson was asked to intercede on Scruton’s behalf. Annabel’s detailed and useful response has been circulated via Network Scruton and we are grateful for the information she provided.

Scruton resident, John Mainwaring-Taylor, also vigorously pursued Yorkshire Water for an explanation and eventually received a letter apologising for the inconvenience caused to Scruton. Several problems were identified and John has received a written list of undertakings from Yorkshire Water to improve the way any future works are carried out. A copy of this letter will be circulated shortly on Network Scruton… it pays to complain!
