Noticeboards
Parish Council noticeboards are located at the village hall and on the village green. A public-access noticeboard is located in the bus shelter opposite Pittfields Corner.
Scruton Information Signboard
A ‘Thankful Village’ signboard located on the village green near the Church, tells the story of Scruton from its ancient origins through to it becoming a Thankful Village.
Station Visitors from SA
Descendants of Henry Hutchinson, Scruton’s Station Master in the 1920s, visited Scruton in August and were amazed to see the renovations to the once derelict building.

As I write, harvest is now almost over, with one small area of spring barley remaining.

Another hot, dry month has spoilt many summer plants, but it has suited plants like lavender which has been covered in flowers.

We recently had a hummingbird hawk-moth feeding on flowers in our garden. These day time feeding moths migrate from around the Mediterranean to Britain and Northern Europe.

Rory Clarke has now stepped down as Treasurer for the Coore Memorial Hall and the village hall diary is now held by Jim & Michele Hargan
